2010

2010 has been a tough year on our grandparents (the boys great grandparents). In the last month troy and I have each lost a grandparent. My grandfather George (and the first funeral in my family since troy and I got married) and troy's grandmother Joyce (who helped raise troy at times). We are so thankful that these both were funerals of rejoicing, being confident both our loved ones have joined Jesus in heaven. There is nothing better than the smell of fresh flowers, especially lily's in your home to remind you. God is good.

Snow Fort

Wow, it's been such a warm week - good thing we got these pictures taken when we did! We've had such a fun winter, it was so fun to have enough snow this year to do fun things like building snowforts!! I'm not sure if the boys had more fun, or if mommy did!

Daddy's home

We're so glad to have daddy home - he went to DC again this week, just 2 nights, but he was missed! He's such a great daddy, and the boys just love playing with him so much. Wednesday, right before he flew out, Kobe had daddy day at school. This is the picture he drew of his daddy, although he usually puts big spikey hair on him! They have been so excited, planning and preparing for this day at school. At daddy day they got to do lots of science experiments, play in they gym, sing and dance and so much more. They also filled out a sheet about their dad:

Yes - lots of kids at our house lately - my cousin and her 4 children stayed two nights, and now tonight my other cousin's son is staying with us. I think the boys will be lost tomorrow, when all their second cousins go home, and they will have just mom and dad to play with! It's so nice to have lots of family :)

Family Valentines Day

Okay, so we've started yet another tradition (I know, I know, I'm obsessed). We headed to "the blast", a 3 story playland in the community center in Eagan for our valentines day celebration just like last year. It's awesome - the boys had a "blast", and burned off some of that built up winter energy. I think mommy will be sad when my baby doesn't need me to follow him through the tubes, up the big steps, and down the 3 story slide!!! Awesome!

Potty Time??

Potty time already?? Yes, mommy decided to attempt it 10 days ago, since Brennan had a week off of school, and he's been telling us when he wets. He's doing sooo good, we are so excited! Brennan is so proud to wear big boy underwear (they have to feel better than a crunchy diaper, right?), and it must help to have a brother to look up to and a mommy that's been through this before, because he's doing extremely well compared to #1 who was 8 months older when I started his training. Way to go Brennan!!!

While we're talking about brennan - he's also doing great with his talking, speaking regularily in complete sentances - caroline (our speech therapist) still comes every other week, but we will be re-asessing him, and I'm positive we will be discontinuing services. She has been wonderful and helped me move him through 20 months of progress in just a few months. The boys both love when she comes, and she's been great about including Kobe as well - anyone who walks in your house with a bag of new toys is an instant best friend, right? Brennan continues to ask for the musical elmo book every week, it's his favorite!!

My baby is growing up. What is mommy to do?? :(

Valentines Day
