Indoor camping

The boys have been talking for awhile about having an indoor camping night. Last night was the night - they've never been so excited to go to bed. Kobe got all the sleeping bags and pillows set up, built a fire all by himself. After some marshmallow roasting, fruit kabobs (fruit snacks on toothpicks), and some story reading, we all snuggled in Kobe's room, and after a little giggling we all went to sleep (for part of the night anyway).

Wacky Hair Day

Wednesday was Wacky Hair Day at Preschool . . . enough said.

Sandwiches

75,000 sandwiches for the homeless . . .

Kobe lasting and hour and a half at making sandwiches, totally being a grownup, and doing multiple jobs. Amazing.

garage saling?

I have to be honest, I've never been a garage saler, but the neighbor hood accross the park from us has a neighborhood one, and since we didn't have jett this week, we checked them out - the boys loved going - they drove their john deere gator on friday night, and we hit about 20 more on thursday morning - I was surprised they did so well, it was fun hunting for puzzles, and baby clothes for their new cousin Tori (pink fun). Oh, and I learned baby toys are apparently fun for any age.

Night Out

Troy and I got a wonderful opportunity to have a night out at Stella's Fish Cafe in uptown. We got sit at the "chef's table" right next to the kitchen with direct access to the executive chef, and sample half the menu, unlimited drinks, appetizers, desserts. It was amazing. All thanks to our incredible friends Chad and Julie Haase. Here's a few tidbits of our evening . . . walleye fingers, good company, 32 oz ribeye, calimari, laughs, lobster, coconut shrimp, red wine, raw oysters, friends, key lime cheesecake. We can't thank you enough Chad and Julie, and a special thanks to grandpa with the choo choos for watching the boys.

Easter 2010

Wow, what a beautiful day to celebrate Jesus ("dehas" in brennan's language) rising from the grave to save us all. We started the holiday by going to our Good Friday service friday at noon, which was rated PG-11 or 12; they showed clips of "the passion", and it really made you realize all Jesus went through for us, and put you in the right state of mind for the holiday. Let's just say I wasn't the only one who left the service in tears. Saturday we went to our "family" easter service at 3pm which was followed by an easter egg hunt, because we didn't want to miss our own church's easter service, plus our church really encourages members to come saturday because we have thousands of people coming sunday morning (what a blessing)! We headed to troy's parents after the saturday service, and celebrated again sunday morning with a beautiful service at their wonderful church (there's just something about going to an early service on easter morning). The boys found their easter baskets (we left the easter bunny a note to tell him we'd be at grandma and grandpa's this year), and had a huge easter dinner (23 people), and a fun easter egg hunt (I filled over 100 eggs the night before). The boys had so much fun playing with their cousins. I'll end with my favorite quote's of the holiday: from brennan "mommy, dehas died on da cross!", from Kobe: "dey nailed him to cross, did you think dey glued him?"

NEW ballpark

On Friday Troy and Kobe got to check out the new Twins outdoor ballpark at the exhibition game. Thankfully the weather cleared up just in time. Kobe's favorite part is when the twins hit a homerun the lights race around the MN state and the guys shake hands - Troy's favorite part is what he's been talking about for a long time "they should do a state fair food theme" - they did!!

Oh, and mommy and brennan had a date night, which means McDonalds and playlands there and the Burnsville mall!!! We're so predictable!

March/April summer??

Nothing better than eating on the deck in march?? Even the first week of april. We definitely have been taking advantage of this weather, we even wore shorts a couple times, except brennan, he refused - it may be a hot summer for him . . .
