First Young Family BonFire

Yes, we finally got a fire pit so we can have bonfires, that we've wanted since we moved here, we missed our firepit in Red Wing.  Last night was perfect, it was chilly enough you wanted to sit by the fire.  The boys enjoyed their bedtime snack out on their little picnic table by the fire - mommy's homemade double chocolate chip cookies and koolaid (what a combo).  It was a fun Young family event and a great weekend!

Kobe Swimming lessons

Kobe has started his first swimming lessons this spring on saturday mornings.  He's having fun playing "motor boat", "red light green light", and practicing swimming on his back and tummy.  Yesterday he got to ride in a canoe in the pool - it was so cute, they all got to wear life jackets - what a great experience!

10th anniversary

Wow, I cannot believe it is troy and my 10th anniversary already!  We snuck away overnight last weekend to Red Wing, where we met, troy proposed to me, and we were married.  It was wonderful, even though we just moved from there 3 years ago, it truly felt like we were away.  We drove down to wabasha to go to the national eagle center, hiked the bluff where troy proposed to me, wandered the parks of Red Wing, and enjoyed our beautiful Bed and Breakfast that was built exactly 100 years before I was born!  It was the most beautiful house I've ever entered, the owners have done an amazing job preserving and restoring the home.  Thank you honey for the wonderful last 10 plus years - looking forward to many more . . .

Easter 2009

Wow, this took so long - I had so many pictures to share, I couldn't decide. Our Easter was so wonderful - what a beautiful day for an easter egg hunt at my moms! It's so fun now with 2 boys, and both were really into it this year - even brennan was looking in the rain gutters for his easter basket! It's our tradition to put out a carrot in the boys shoes so the easter bunny can have a snack. We got up early and went to the early service at church, we were bribed by an easter breakfast (the church was encouraging members to go to the 8am, because they have so many people come on easter, and already had 4 services what a wonderful problem!). We came home from church and Kobe found his basket in the bathtub and brennan found his in the closet. The easter bunny was a great hider this year! After an hour or so, we headed to my mom's for an easter dinner and egg hunt. My favorite part was Kobe talking about going to the "happy church service", we had explained to him the maunde thursday service and why it was sad and when troy and I went to the good friday service, it was sad too, so Kobe still refers to the easter service as the "happy service" ;)

Scooter Reward

Look at that face - is that my proud boy?  Kobe completed his sticker chart with 50 stickers for making his bed, and he lucked out that the scooter was also on sale at Target last week, and a little help from his wonderful family.  Mommy and Kobe took a trip to target and HE purchased his scooter - it's only been a few days but he is already a pro - he started out in the house, and is now confident outside, riding it down to the park.  I'm not sure where he gets his coordination - not from his mommy for sure!  :)

How can you say no to a face like that - this is my cousin's little girl, Molly.  We've had lots of fun at our house lately - lots of playmates for Kobe and Brennan (although he doesn't like anyone his size right now except for pushing around).  I have the privilege of watching my friends girls about once a week whom are the same age as my boys, and play so well (except brennan).  And then last weekend we had my cousins two little ones all weekend.  It actually  went very well - but I don't think troy and I will be having two more kids anytime soon!  Plus we had an adorable little puppy staying with us, and it's a good think she was adorable, because the potty thing did not go well at our house (could it have been that fact that we had 4 kids?).  Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of the puppy, Liberty Bell was her name.  Libby was fun - but I had no idea how much work a dog is.  Wow!  Good lesson for mommy!  I'll stick with kids for now.
