Grandma K

camera timers . . . wonderful!
Do we look alike? I get told we do . .
The boys and their great grandma!
On Thursday morning the boys and mommy headed out again . . . this time to green bay. My grandma, which makes her the boys great grandma lives near green bay. The boys did amazing for 5 hours in the car alone with mommy (I have to admit I was nervous) - part of that is thanks to their wonderful christmas gift of DVD players which are kept only for really long trips!! We had a perfect little visit with grandma Krass - the boys helped her with her 100 piece puzzle (I think she was amazed they actually could put it together so quickly), then we left for supper and came back for another hour. Grandma just sat back and smiled - enjoying watching the boys play with their electronic toys, which she probably has no clue what they're doing. We love you so much grandma.
Next, we headed to my aunt lynn's, just an hour away, which she so graciously opened her home to us and always makes us feel so special. The boys got to check out some cows (they live on a farm milking 1200 cows!), and saw lots of tractors, loved jumping on the trampoline, and playing with their second cousins. Thank you so much aunt lynn.
As you can see above - Brennan is ready to get back into the routine with his 3 hour naps - which began today!! Aren't those lashes precious?

Last Days . . .

Brennan's pre-preschool last day.
Ice Cream parties.
Kobe and his buds Ty and Zach.
Can you believe summer is here? Kobe is going to miss his friends so much this summer - I hope the other mom's didn't think I was just kidding when I mentioned playdates every mon/wed/fri!!! I dropped kobe off for his last day of preschool today - I must be a sap, I teared up thinking of my first born being done with preschool, and moving on to kindergarten - pretty soon there will be graduations, college, etc.
I know they have to grow up, but can't I keep them little for just a while longer???

PA trip

This past extended weekend we took a trip to PA - Brennan's first plane ride was exhausting - then when we got to the hotel (midnight) - our hotel room was decorated in chocolate (thanks to aunt lori) - she fulfilled Kobe's dream trip where they leave chocolates on your pillow - or so he was telling everyone.
We toured the Hershey chocolate land, where we found a really neat story behind mr hershey and his chocolate, and learned that the majority of the profits still go to a really neat cause. And of course drank some chocolate milk, and ate some chocolate. BTW there really is such a thing as too much chocolate.
Then we spent a day at Hershey park, where they have tons of rides, characters, etc. The kids know what rides they can go on by what candy they are - Kobe was a reeses, and Brennan was still a miniature (not even a kiss yet). Brennan just absolutely loved the characters - he wouldn't even stop hugging the York peppermint patty to smile for a picture (above left bottom corner)! Daddy and mommy went on a roller coaster, which was a blast, even going upside down - until it started going backwards and upsidedown together - not a good idea!! They also had a zoo! We counted up the rides, and the boys went on over 20 rides!! Thank you grandma and grandpa, aunt rick and aunt lori for bringing us out there, and showing us a good time!!

Mommy Day

I am feeling so blessed on this wonderful mothers day, that God gave me two amazing, healthy, brilliant little boys that fill our lives with so much love and laughter. I wish everyone who reads this a blessed mothers day as well.
Kobe had his "mommy day" at school this past wednesday - they have planned and prepared so long for this, he's been so excited for the day to come. We got to join them for the last hour of class. They greeted us with a homemade corsage, sang songs to us, made a snack for us, and we got to do a scrapbook page together. As you can see above - Kobe's a great scrapbooker!! They also filled out a sheet about their mom's:
looks pretty when: she has a dress on
favorite food: Hot Dogs ???
favorite thing to do: Play with me
I love mom: because she's special
Happy mothers day!!!

Moving and Zooming

Brennan and mommy got to go to the annual "moving and zooming" night put on by Early Childhood Education. Brennan got to sit in a tractor, old cars, skid steers, fire truck, police car (mommy was releaved that he picked the drivers seat and not the back seat), huge lawn mower, race cars, and many more - oh and of course trikes!!!

READING at 5????

What happened to learning to read in first grade?? Kobe's been really needing things to keep him busy, so I bought some phonics books (curious george, since we've been into getting those books from the library lately). He read the first 12 page book in 3-4 days!! I couldn't believe how fast he picked it up, sounding out the words like nothing - we're now half way through book 2. Wow!! He is either just brilliant, or really ready to read, maybe a little of both! :)

Home Depot

The Young boys have a monthly tradition of going to home depot - the first saturday of every month, there is a project they can make - they've made bird houses, butterfly houses, race tracks, rain gauges, etc. I think daddy loves it just as much as the boys. It's a great experience for all of them, definitely good for the fine motor skills - brennan can already hammer in his own nails!! Look at my boys growing up.
